Troy adds former Georgia safety through transfer portal
Troy on Thursday added a transfer portal commitment from safety David Daniel-Sisavanh, a former 4-star recruit at Georgia.
Daniel-Sisavanh played three seasons with the Bulldogs after signing as part of the 2021 recruiting class, and has one season of eligibility remaining. The Woodstock, Ga., native was dismissed from the team just prior to the 2024 season following a high-profile reckless driving arrest.
A Woodstock, Ga., native, Daniel-Sisavanh played in 34 games at Georgia from 2021-23, winning a pair of national championship rings. He saw time on both defense and special teams, totaling 30 tackles and two pass breakups.
Daniel-Sisavanh is the sixth portal transfer, and third defensive back, to join the Troy team in the current cycle. The Trojans previously landed former Vanderbilt safety Steven Sannieniola and Washburn cornerback transfer Jaquez White, along with running back Jamontez Woods (West Florida), offensive lineman Patrick Screws (Georgia Tech) and wide receiver Tray Taylor (Coastal Carolina).
Troy lost five defensive backs — including starting free safety Ian Conerly-Goodly and top backup Darrell Starling — to the transfer portal after the 2024 season. Strong safety Justin Powe and “spear” safety Devin Lafayette are set to return in 2025.
Troy finished 4-8 in 2024, its first season under head coach Gerad Parker.
