Investigation underway after 3 found dead in north Alabama house fire
Madison County sheriffs are collaborating with the Alabama State Fire Marshal Service to investigate after three people were found dead in a housefire Tuesday morning.
Around 6 a.m., sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of a house fire in the 100 block of Forestbrook Drive in Madison, according to a release from the department.
While the sheriff’s release, posted at 11 a.m., only confirmed one death, James Filley of Monrovia Volunteer Fire-Rescue said three victims had been found dead as of 1 p.m.
The incident remains under investigation by detectives at the Madison County Sheriff’s Office in collaboration with the Alabama State Fire Marshal Service to determine the cause and circumstances surrounding the fire, according to the release.
No further details are available at this time.
Madison County Sheriffs urge the public to avoid the area while the investigation is ongoing and added that additional information will be released as it becomes available.
