Gun fired inside Montgomery airport, report says

Someone is in custody after a gun was fired at the security checkpoint in the Montgomery Regional Airport early Saturday morning.

The gunfire damaged a glass window, Montgomery TV station WSFA reported.

Airport officials confirmed that the incident occurred but did not provide further comment. Police immediately responded, and the threat is resolved, according to WSFA. The airport resumed normal operations by 4 a.m.

“We are grateful for the swift response from our local law enforcement, which ensured the safety of everyone at the airport,” Wade A. Davis, C.M. MGM Executive Director told WSFA. “We are committed to maintaining a safe and secure environment for all passengers.”
