Defensive leader staying with Alabama football for 2025
Alabama football will have one of its defensive leaders back for 2025.
Defensive tackle Tim Keenan III announced Saturday via Instagram that he will stay for one more season with the Crimson Tide.
“I want to apologize for how things ended this season,” Keenan posted to Instagram in a statement. “I never wanted to go out like that, so that’s why I’m not.”
Keenan, a Birmingham native, has one more season of eligibility.
“When I committed to Alabama my goal was to win a national championship and that’s what I will work every single day to do, IN JESUS’ NAME,” Keenan said.
Keenan started 12 of 13 games at defensive tackle this past season. In total, Keenan played 466 snaps, per Pro Football Focus. He tallied 40 tackles, 2.5 sacks and one pass breakup.
“First and foremost I want to give God all of the Glory,” Keenan said. “Now to my Alabama Crimson Tide Family – it is a blessing and privilege to be able to call this great University my Alma Mater. From earning my degree to making a name for myself on the field, I thank God for allowing me to grow at the best college in America. I am honored and blessed to wear the Crimson and White number 96, and I am forever grateful for all of the things I have accomplished in my time here at Alabama.”
Keenan joins LT Overton as defensive players with remaining eligibility who have announced they will stay for another season.
