Foul play suspected in 2024 disappearance of Birmingham man; person of interest sought

Police say foul play is suspected in the disappearance of a Birmingham man, and they are searching for a person of interest.

Gerard A. Johns, 40, lives and works in Crestwood.

He was reported missing in mid-December and at that time had not been seen by family for weeks.

Since the initial investigation began, said Officer Truman Fitzgerald, Special Victims Unit detectives have come to believe foul play was involved since Johns has not shown up for work, which is unusual for him.
