Another transfer portal running back visiting Alabama football
Alabama football has brought in a former Louisiana running back for a visit.
Dre’Lyn Washington told AL.com he arrived in Tuscaloosa for a visit with the Crimson Tide on Friday.
Washington spent four seasons with the Ragin Cajuns. This past season, he tallied 73 carries for 478 yards, a 6.5-yard average, for five touchdowns.
Washington is a 5-9, 224-pound running back from Hemphill, Texas.
Alabama is clearly looking to bolster its running back spot with Justice Haynes departing for Michigan. In addition to the Washington visit, Alabama is also expected to play host to Utah State running back Rahsul Faison in for a visit soon, sources with knowledge of the recruitment told AL.com.
Faison spent the past two seasons with the Aggies, taking 316 carries for 1,845 yards and 13 touchdowns. This past season, he averaged 5.6 yards per carry with 198 carries for 1,109 yards and eight scores.
For the current Alabama roster, running back Jam Miller has said he will return for another season. Richard Young, Daniel Hill and Kevin Riley can all return as well. Alabama also signed running back recruit Akylin Dear.
247Sports ranks Faison as the top-ranked running back available in the transfer portal.
Visits do not necessarily equate to offers, but they provide a good chance to get a closer look at a player who is in the transfer portal.
