Alabama band gets ‘once-in-a-lifetime’ invite to perform at 2025 presidential inaugural parade
The Albertville High School band has been invited to perform at the 2025 inaugural parade in Washington D.C.
About 350 students from Albertville will load onto buses and travel to the nation’s capital to perform on Inauguration Day on Jan. 20, said Taylor Cash, the director of bands, at Albertville High in northeast Alabama.
“This was really a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for us to be a part of history — such a huge event in our nation,” Cash said in a video message on Facebook.
“We are really excited to put these students on television in front of millions of people around the world,” he added. “We hope you’ll tune in and that you’ll wish us luck.”
The parade will take place on the day Donald Trump — the 45th and 47th president — is sworn in at the U.S. Capitol building.
The Albertville City Schools system called the invite “an extraordinary honor for our band, our school and our entire community!”
“Let’s give a huge shoutout to these talented students, dedicated directors and hardworking parents who make moments like this possible,” the system said in a Facebook post. “Go Aggies!”
In the past, the Albertville band has been invited to perform in the Rose Parade in Pasadena, California, and in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York.
