Our top NFL Week 17 player prop bets for Jacobs, Tagovailoa, Gibbs and Ridley

A quartet of former Alabama stars are all positioned differently for NFL playoff participation in Week 17. Josh Jacobs and the Packers will be playing in a key NFC matchup against the rival Minnesota Vikings in the most notable game of the week for any of the four guys featured here.

Tua Tagovailoa will try to keep Miami’s playoff hopes alive against the Browns. Jahmyr Gibbs and the Lions are attempting to keep their grip on the No. 1 seed in the NFC. Calvin Ridley and his Titans will be watching the playoffs from home, but he is still fired up for his draw with the Jaguars.

We spotlight the best player props for four former Crimson Tide standouts on the top mobile sportsbooks.

Josh Jacobs under 73.5 rushing yards vs. Vikings

Best odds: -115 at DraftKings Sportsbook

Note: Odds are based on the best value our experts find as of publication; check lines closer to game time to ensure you get the best odds.

Jacobs has been a prime player in Green Bay’s run to 11 wins, but more of his impact is reflected in his 13 TD runs rather than his rushing yardage numbers. In the last four games, he rushed for six TDs, but only hit the 70-yard mark one time. Minnesota ranks third in rushing yards allowed to running backs.

Tua Tagovailoa under 231.5 passing yards vs. Browns

Best odds: -115 at BetMGM Sportsbook

The conditions are a consideration for this prop play. The advance forecast at nflweather.com points to a 90 percent chance of rain with 16 mph wind gusts. The game-time temperature forecast is 51 degrees, and as noted by the Palm Beach Post, Tagovailoa has a 1-8 record in games 50 degrees or lower, which is obviously not far off from the projected temperature.

As a comparison, in cold and rainy conditions at Tennessee in January of 2022, Tagovailoa passed for 205 yards as Miami scored three points. Tyreek Hill’s production is down now, too, and Jaylen Waddle is battling a knee injury.

Jahmyr Gibbs first touchdown scorer vs. 49ers (MNF)

Best odds: +375 at Fanatics Sportsbook

The -240 odds on Gibbs as an anytime TD scorer doesn’t offer enough of a return, so bank on Gibbs to open the scoring for the unstoppable Detroit offense. David Montgomery is out, so Gibbs must take on the full workload for short-yardage rushing TDs. He is also capable of scoring from anywhere on the field as a runner or pass-catcher.

The Lions’ standout RB is up to 15 scrimmage TDs on the season, which is tied for second-most in the NFL. San Francisco’s reputation as a tough team to rush for a TD against is based only on the past. The 49ers have allowed 15 rushing TDs to RBs this season, tied for third-most in the league.

Calvin Ridley over 4.5 receptions vs. Jaguars

Best odds: -114 at FanDuel Sportsbook

There is also a rainy and windy forecast at Jacksonville, so I will steer clear of Ridley’s yardage prop. But the Titans still do have a good matchup for WRs against Jacksonville, and while the deep passing game may be compromised, Ridley should be targeted enough on key passing downs.

Against his former team in the first meeting of the season, Ridley caught seven passes on 12 targets. He has already publicly said that he wants to perform well in a “revenge” matchup, and the Jaguars rank 22nd in receptions allowed to WRs.
