Where did Auburn men’s basketball rank in Week 8 AP Poll?

Auburn men’s basketball remains ranked No. 2 in the country in the Week 8 AP Poll, only trailing Tennessee.

The Tigers got 21 first place votes, but Tennessee earned 41 to retain the top spot. It’s the third week in a row that Auburn ranks No. 2. The ranking comes after Auburn played two games in the previous week, beating Georgia State and Purdue.

The Purdue win was the highlight, beating the Boilermakers by 18 in Birmingham, but led by as many as 33 points in the game.

There are five Southeastern Conference teams in this week’s top 10, more than any other conference. Auburn will play Tennessee on Jan. 25, a game that could be a battle for the No. 1 spot.

Auburn will play once this upcoming week, facing Monmouth on Dec. 30. Tipoff is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
