Man found dead in debris of burning Fairfield house now identified
A man found dead in the debris of a burning Fairfield home has now been identified.
The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office on Friday identified the victim as Anthony Terrill Williams. He was 34.
Fairfield firefighters responded at 1:24 a.m. Thursday to the blaze at a house in the 6400 block of Court F.
Once the fire was extinguished, Williams’s remains were found in the debris, said Jefferson County Chief Deputy Coroner Bill Yates.
Williams was pronounced dead on the scene at 4:18 a.m.
The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the circumstances surrounding the death, and the Alabama State Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause and origin of the fire.
