Gardendale High School didn’t have far to look to find its next head football coach, hiring defensive coordinator Eric Firestone to take the top job. The school made the announcement on social media on Thursday.

Firestone, 46, had been Chad Eads’ defensive coordinator for all seven years of his tenure at the school.
