Beloved department store chain is planning a comeback in 2025
Lord & Taylor is making a comeback.
Nearly five years after filing for bankruptcy protection and shuttering its brick-and-mortar locations in 2021, the beloved department store has announced plans to relaunch as an online retailer in 2025.
Regal Brands Global, which acquired the Lord & Taylor intellectual property in September, plans to bring back the retailer’s iconic logo. According to a report from Retail Dive, Regal Brands’ new 75-person Lord & Taylor retail team is working on a new merchandising strategy that will combine luxury and affordable style.
Forbes reports the rebranded site will offer a mix of designer merchandise and Lord & Taylor-branded products, including a luxury category for designer and luxury brands, a Lord & Taylor heritage section, a dedicated dress section, and a Gen Z-focused store featuring younger fashion styles at affordable price points.
Lord & Taylor has also announced plans for the upcoming rebrand on its relanched website . The retailer is also encouraging prospective customers and others interested in the rebrand to subscribe to its newsletter.
