The longtime chairman of the Mobile Airport Authority announced his resignation Monday from the airport’s board of directors.

Elliot Maisel, who has been among the key figures overseeing the city’s transformation of commercial air service, will be replaced by current board member E. Luckett Robinson II as the authority’s chairman. The Mobile Airport Authority voted earlier in the day to name Robinson as its new chairman.
