The closure of a Walmart Market location is the latest in a handful of shutdowns by the country’s largest retailer this year.

Other Walmart changes
Walmart has made some changes inside stores as well.
In May, Walmart announced it was closing 51 of its in-store Health Centers, saying the business model was not “sustainable.” The company continues to operate nearly 4,600 pharmacies and 3,000 vision centers.
In early 2024, Walmart announced it plans to build or convert more than 150 large-format stores over the next five years. Two of the first expanded stores opened in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida and Atlanta and 12 other new projects are underway.
All of the new stores will feature expanded product selection and new technology.
