Auburn football’s Jarquez Hunter, KeAndre Lambert-Smith earn AP All-SEC honors

The accolades keep coming for Jarquez Hunter and KeAndre Lambert-Smith.

Both players made an All-SEC team voted on by the league’s coaches earlier in the week and officially earned AP All-SEC honors on Wednesday. They each made the same team in both selections, with Hunter landing on the first team and Lambert-Smith the second.

In the AP All-SEC second team, Lambert-Smith was tied with LSU’s Kyren Lacy for the second wide receiver spot on the team alongside Alabama’s Ryan Williams. Ole Miss receiver Tre Harris and Arkansas’ Andrew Armstrong were the two first-team wide receivers.

Lambert-Smith finished the season with 981 receiving yards, ranking third in the SEC behind Harris and Armstrong. He also finished tied for second in the conference in receiving touchdowns with eight.

There wasn’t much controversy for Hunter, as he made the first team alongside Tennessee’s Dylan Sampson in the AP’s selection.

Hunter finished the season second in the conference in rushing yards (1,201), trailing only Sampson who won the AP SEC Offensive Player of the Year. With 2024 being his last season of eligibility, Hunter’s 3,371 yards rank fourth in Auburn history, trailing only James Brooks, Carnell Williams and Bo Jackson.
