Mark Withers, ‘Stranger Things’, ‘Dynasty’ actor, dead at 77
Mark Withers, an actor known for several high-profile television roles, including “Dynasty,” “Stranger Things” and more has died. He was 77.
Withers’ death was confirmed on Friday by his daughter, Jessie Withers, who said he died from pancreatic cancer, according to CNN.
In a statement to Variety, Jessie Withers said that her father “confronted his illness with the same strength and dignity he brought to his craft.”
She added that her father’s enduring talent and commitment to the industry will be “fondly remembered by colleagues, friends, and fans alike.”
Withers played a wide variety of roles throughout the ‘80s’, including “Matlock,” “Magnum, P.I.,” “The Dukes of Hazzard,” and “Dallas”.
He is most notably known for portraying the boyfriend of Steven Carrington in the first season of “Dynasty,” in 1981.
Most recently, Withers played coroner Gary in Season 1 of Netflix’s hit show, “Stranger Things.”
