A Northport man was killed in a single-vehicle crash in Tuscaloosa County.

Alabama State Troopers identified the victim as Nickolas A. Griffin. He was 44.

The wreck happened at 4:21 p.m. Thursday on Alabama 69, about 10 miles north of Northport.

Trooper Cpl. Reginal King said Griffin was driving a Honda CRV that left the road, struck an embankment and overturned.

Griffin was not using a seat belt at the time of the crash and was ejected. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

The crash remains under investigation by troopers.
