East Alabama man killed in head-on crash with teen driver in Montgomery County

A head-on crash in Montgomery County left one man dead and two others injured, including a teen.

The wreck happened at 1:30 a.m. Friday on Alabama 126, about one mile east of Montgomery.

ALEA Lt. Jeremy Burkett identified the fatality victim as Antonio Ivarra. He was 39 and lived in Phenix City.

Burkett said Ivarra was driving a Scion TC that collided head on with a Honda Pilot driven by a 16-year-old.

Ivarra, who was not using a seat belt, was thrown from the vehicle upon impact. He was dead on the scene.

A passenger in his vehicle was taken to Baptist Medical Center South with undisclosed injuries.

The teen driver of the Honda was also taken to a hospital.

Troopers are continuing to investigate the deadly crash.
