Live updates: No. 4 Alabama returns home to face Vanderbilt after big loss
No. 4 Alabama stumbled its last time out and will return to Coleman Coliseum looking for an in-conference rebound. Days after its biggest loss of the season to Oklahoma (24 points), the Crimson Tide (18-3, 8-0 Southeastern Conference is back in conference play against Vanderbilt.
Two weeks ago, the Tide held off the Commodores on the road in an emotional win. Head coach Nate Oats admitted the team wasn’t playing to its potential in the follow-ups at Missouri and hosting Mississippi State. It caught up to Alabama against the Sooners on Saturday, subsequently dropping two spots in the Associated Press poll.
Meanwhile, the Commodores (10-11, 3-5) have lost three of their last four, including a home defeat to Kentucky and a six-point road loss to Texas A&M. Oats and co. aren’t panicking, but will still look for a fast start once tipoff happens on ESPN2 at 7:30 p.m.
