Alabama flips Michigan State running back commit

It’s beginning to look a lot like flipmas.

Alabama football has flipped Jace Clarizio, a three-star running back in the 2025 recruiting class, from Michigan State, Clarizio told On3 on Tuesday.

The Crimson Tide flipping Clarizio is significant considering he is from East Lansing, Michigan, where Michigan State is located. Alabama essentially took Clarizio from the Spartans’ backyard.

Clarizio is listed at 6-foot, 190 pounds. The 247Sports Composite lists him as the No. 37 running back in the 2025 recruiting class and the No. 6 prospect in Michigan.

Alabama assistant coach Robert Gillespie was listed as his primary recruiter. Chris Kapilovic was the secondary recruiter.

Clarizio’s commitment gives Alabama its 22nd commit in the 2025 recruiting class. The early signing period opens a week from Wednesday, on Dec. 4. Clarizio is the second running back in the class, joining four-star recruit Akylin Dear.

Prior to Clarizio’s commitment, Alabama had the No. 3 ranked recruiting class for 2025, per the 247Sports Composite.

Alabama will face Auburn in the Iron Bowl on Saturday (2:30 p.m. CT, ABC) at Bryant-Denny Stadium.
