Auburn NFL roundup: Daniel Carlson continues to connect for Raiders
Las Vegas Raiders Daniel Carlson continued to connect for the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday. In the Raiders’ 29-19 loss to the Denver Broncos, Carlson made all five of his kicks — one extra point and field goals of 34, 34, 53 and 22 yards.
Carlson has made 17 field-goal attempts in a row since missing wide left on a 57-yarder in a 36-22 loss to the Carolina Panthers on Sept. 22.
Carlson’s 53-yarder on Sunday was the third field goal of 50 or more yards that he’s made during the streak. He’s 6-of-7 from that range this season.
Overall, Carlson had made 22-of-24 field-goal attempts in 2024. His other miss came on a 49-yard attempt in a 22-10 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers to open the season. Carlson also had made all 16 of his extra-point kicks.
By making 191 of his 216 field-goal attempts during his career, the former All-Pro has an 88.4 percent connection rate that makes him the fourth most-accurate kicker in NFL history.
Carlson was among the 19 former Auburn players who got on the field on the 12th Sunday of the NFL’s 105th season.
Three other former Auburn players were involved in the Denver-Las Vegas game:
- Bo Nix (Pinson Valley) started at quarterback for the Broncos. Nix completed 25-of-42 passes for 273 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions and ran once for 5 yards. Nix connected with wide receiver Courtland Sutton on touchdown passes for 18 yards with 10:49 left in the third quarter as Denver took a 16-13 lead and 2 yards with 5:30 to play as the Broncos went up 26-16.
