Sen. Katie Britt selected for GOP leadership role

U.S. Sen. Katie Britt, R-Ala., has been appointed as one of five vice chairs for the National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC), a major promotion to her position in the Senate.

NRSC Chairman Sen. Tim Scott, R-S.C., announced the vice chair appointments in a post to X on Thursday.

Britt will be joined by Sen. Pete Ricketts, R-Nev., Sen. Marsha Blackburn, R-Tenn., Sen. Ted Budd, R-N.C., and Sen.-elect Jim Banks, R-In. as fellow vice chairs.

“Republicans are united around defending our U.S. Senate majority,” Scott wrote.

“But, there is too much at stake to do this alone, so I’m thankful to my colleagues for stepping up to serve as Vice Chairs to the NRSC.”

“Raising the resources, expanding the map, and building the organization to win is going to be an all hands-on deck task!”

According to their website, the NRSC is the only national organization solely devoted to strengthening the Republican Senate Majority and electing Republicans to the United States Senate.

“We provide invaluable support and assistance to current and prospective Republican U.S. Senate candidates in the areas of budget planning, election law compliance, fundraising, communications tools and messaging, and research and strategy,” their mission reads.

Britt said she is “excited” to work with Scott in her new role and “build upon the success we had Nov. 5.”

“Fighting alongside President Trump, four years of a GOP Senate majority is critical to securing the border, turning our economy around, & preserving the American Dream,” Britt posted on X Thursday.
