A woman has died after being found shot Monday morning, according to the Semmes Police Department.

According to SPD, officers responded to a report of gunfire at 9:30 a.m. in the 8500 block of Moffett Road.

Upon arrival the officers encountered a minivan with a woman unresponsive inside and two men standing outside the vehicle.

Semmes Police Chief Todd Freind verified that the woman was shot and died from her injuries.

The Mobile County Sheriff’s Office is helping SPD investigate the shooting.
