Auburn men’s basketball moves up one spot in AP Poll after Kent State win

There was no monumental win for Auburn men’s basketball last week like it had the week prior, but the Tigers maintained their top five ranking in this week’s AP Poll, moving up one spot to No. 4.

Auburn played just one game last week, scoring a 79-56 win over Kent State. Given just the one win, Auburn didn’t see nearly as big of a jump in the rankings as it did after beating Houston, going from No. 11 to No. 5.

Kansas, UConn and Gonzaga are the three teams ranked ahead of Auburn, but the Tigers remain the No. 1 team in the country in KenPom’s efficiency rankings.

This week will be similar for Auburn, playing just one game before heading to Hawaii for the Maui Invitational. The Tigers are next in action Monday night for a game against North Alabama. Tipoff is scheduled for 8 p.m.
