16-year-old Hueytown girl among 2 shot to death in car outside vacant Birmingham house

A 16-year-old girl is among two people found shot to death in a vehicle in a Birmingham neighborhood on Tuesday night.

The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office on Thursday identified the victims as Alexis Elizabeth Wise and Joshua Wayne Parsons, 21. Both lived in Hueytown.

Birmingham police Sgt. LaQuitta Wade said police were alerted to a vehicle that was on the sidewalk by an abandoned house in the 1300 block of Princeton Avenue S.W. The caller reported multiple bullet holes in the car.

Officers approached the sedan and saw the victims unresponsive inside of the car.

Both were pronounced dead on the scene at 10:47 p.m. by Birmingham Fire and Rescue Service.

Wade said a passerby noticed the vehicle was moving slowly in reverse and came to a stop on the sidewalk in front of two vacant houses.

No one reported hearing gunfire, Wade said.

Mayor Randall Woodfin on Wednesday said it appeared the gunfire came from within the car.

Alexis is one of two teens killed this week in Birmingham shootings. Also Tuesday, 17-year-old Gerald Andre Lomax Jr., a Jackson-Olin High School senior, was shot and died the following day.

No arrests have been announced.
