The field has been set for the Alabama High School Athletic Association flag football state tournament with the first games set for today and culminating in one month with a pair of championship games scheduled to kick off the Super 7 at Birmingham’s Protective Stadium.

The 2024 season began on Aug. 22 and ends on Dec. 4 with the 1A/5A and 6A/7A title games. The 1A/5A championship will be at 11 a.m. and the 6A/7A game is set for 3 p.m. The ‘24 season is the first that the sport was sanctioned by the AHSAA after three years of flag football and one – last year – with two classifications playing for championships.
