Harris vs. Trump latest presidential poll: Republican trend continues ahead of election day
Republican Donald Trump has pulled ahead of Democrat Kamala Harris, according to the latest presidential poll.
Atlas Intel’s poll conducted Oct. 30-31 has Trump at 49.1% compared to Harris at 47.2% in an expanded field that includes third-party candidates. Trump maintains his lead in a head-to-head matchup, leading 49.6% to 48.2%.
Trump has traditionally done well in Atlas polls, but the latest numbers reflect a tightening of the race just ahead of election day on Nov. 5 . FiveThirtyEight’s average of national polls shows Harris ahead by 1.2 percentage points, smaller than September’s results that had the Vice President with as much as 3 percentage points.
In key states, FiveThirtyEight reports the two are tied in Nevada and Pennsylvania with Harris ahead in Wisconsin and Michigan and Trump leading in North Carolina and Georgia.
Latest poll results
In keeping with past polls from Atlas, Trump has maintained his lead among male voters, as well as those ages 30 and older and those without a college degree. Harris polls better among women – 50-48%- as well as those ages 18-29 and voters with a college degree or higher.
Trump has the lead among voters who earn between $50,000-$100,000 and those who live in rural areas, where he holds a 23-point advantage. Harris leads among both sides of the income spectrum – those who earn below $50,000 and those who earn above $100,000, as well as urban and suburban voters. Trump leads among white votes while Harris has an overwhelming advantage among Black and Hispanic voters.
Atlas Intel’s poll of 3,490 respondents has a margin of error of plus/minus 2 percentage points. By party, respondents were 36% Republicans, 33% Democrats and 31% independent.
