Mobile ranks fourth in Alabama for deadly car crashes, according to data from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

In 2022, the last year for which NHTSA data is available, 29 fatal car accidents occurred in Mobile, a 12.1 % increase from 2021 (33). Seven pedestrians were harmed in the fatal accidents, 13 of which involved other motor vehicles, while the other accidents involved stationary objects. Alabama had 988 traffic fatalities in 2022, up from 986 the previous year.
