Alabama football news: Injury update on 2 players before Tennessee kickoff
Alabama football listed two defenders as game-time decisions on the availability report 90 minutes prior to kickoff against Tennessee.
Keon Sabb, Alabama’s starting safety next to Malachi Moore, is listed as a game-time decision. He first appeared on the availability report Thursday. The reason for his inclusion is unknown.
Bray Hubbard is listed as Sabb‘s backup at free safety. Kameron Howard is another option as he backs up Moore at the other safety spot. Alabama could also turn to one of its “Husky” defenders such as DeVonta Smith or Red Morgan to play free safety if Sabb can’t go.
Meanwhile, edge rusher Yhonzae Pierre is also listed as a game-time decision. He missed the South Carolina game with an injury.
Pierre has been in the edge rusher rotation with the likes of Qua Russaw, Que Robinson, Keanu Koht and others.
Meanwhile reserves Daniel Hill and Cayden Jones remain listed as out for the game.
While the status of Sabb and Pierre is uncertain heading into the game, Kobe Prentice and Kendrick Law are set to return at receiver after missing some time with injuries. Both were listed as probable on the original availability report of the week on Wednesday, then Alabama removed them for the Thursday report. Law and Prentice will combine forces with Ryan Williams and Germie Bernard at receiver.
No. 7 Alabama faces No. 11 Tennessee on Saturday at Neyland Stadium.
