Alabama steel plant sentenced to 3 years’ probation for violating Clean Air Act

One of Mobile’s major industrial employers will serve three years’ probation and pay a $750,000 fine for violations of the Clean Air Act.

Earlier this week, U.S. District Court Judge Kristi DuBose sentenced AM/NS Calvert, a steel processing plant 35 miles north of Mobile, to the probation and fine. The company pleaded guilty to one count of violating the Clean Air Act, after agreeing to plead guilty in July.
