Auburn at Missouri by the numbers: Can Auburn avoid historic fifth loss?

3 Victories for Auburn and one victory for Missouri in the All-Tigers series. Missouri won the inaugural meeting 34-17 in the Sun Bowl on Dec. 29, 1973. Auburn defeated Missouri 59-42 in the SEC Championship Game on Dec. 7, 2013, and has won the two SEC regular-season meetings – 51-14 in 2017 and 17-14 in 2022.

3 Seasons as a team captain for Missouri QB Brady Cook. Cook is the fifth player in school history to serve as a team captain for three seasons.

4 Consecutive seasons with at least five losses for Auburn. The Tigers have never had five consecutive seasons with at least five losses, but they enter Saturday with a 2-4 record and six games remaining on their regular-season schedule. Since Auburn posted a 9-4 record in 2019, the Tigers went 6-5 in 2020, 6-7 in 2021, 5-7 in 2022 and 6-7 in 2023. Auburn has had two other streaks of four seasons with at least five losses – 1927 through 1930 and 1945 through 1948.

6 TD receptions for WR KeAndre Lambert-Smith in 2024, as many as any Auburn player has had in any of the previous four seasons. Halfway through the Tigers’ regular-season schedule, Lambert-Smith has more touchdown catches in 2024 than any Auburn receiver has had in a season since 2020 except TE Rivaldo Fairweather, who had six TD receptions in 2023. With 24 receptions for 510 yards, Lambert-Smith already has more receiving yards than any Auburn player had in 2022 or 2023.

9 Rushing yards are needed by RB Jarquez Hunter to reach the top 10 in Auburn history. Hunter has 2,698 yards on 430 rushing attempts in his career. Ronnie Brown is No. 10 on Auburn’s career rushing list with 2,707 yards.

10 Auburn players have caught TD passes this season, tied with Vanderbilt for the most in the nation. KeAndre Lambert-Smith has six TD receptions for Auburn this season, Malcolm Simmons has two, and eight other players have one apiece – Camden Brown, Cam Coleman, Luke Deal, Rivaldo Fairweather, Jarquez Hunter, Sam Jackson, Micah Riley-Ducker, and Perry Thompson.

11 More turnovers than takeaways for Auburn this season, tied with Southern Miss, Temple and UAB for the worst margin in the nation. The Tigers have lost six fumbles and nine interceptions while intercepting four of their opponents’ passes. Auburn has not recovered any of its opponents’ four fumbles. The Tigers are the only team in the SEC that has not recovered an opponent’s fumble in 2024. Missouri has seven takeaways and two turnovers this season and has not lost a turnover in its past four games.

24 Victories and seven losses for Missouri coach Eliah Drinkwitz on Faurot Field at Memorial Stadium. Drinkwitz’s .774 home winning percentage is the best of any Missouri coach with at least four seasons with the Tigers. Drinkwitz was a quality-control coach for Auburn’s undefeated BCS national championship team in 2010.

27 Consecutive games with at least one reception for Auburn WR Robert Lewis. All but the most recent six of those games came with Lewis playing for Georgia State.

29 Consecutive games with at least one reception for Missouri WR Luther Burden III. Burden’s streak started after he had no receptions in a 17-14 loss to Auburn on Sept. 24, 2022.

67 Victories, 50 losses and five ties for Missouri in its homecoming games. The Tigers will try to post their eighth consecutive homecoming victory against Auburn on Saturday.

100 Home games as a ranked team for Missouri when the Tigers take the field against Auburn on Saturday. Missouri has a 74-25 record in home games when ranked in the AP Poll. Overall, Missouri’s record is 141-77-1 as a ranked team. Auburn has a 29-79-2 record against ranked teams in true road games.

129 Previous games have been played against another team of Tigers by Auburn. Missouri is one of the six teams that shares Auburn’s nickname that has been played by Auburn, which has a 67-57-5 record against Clemson, LSU, Memphis, Missouri, Pacific and Sewanee.

148 Games have been played by Auburn since it was most recently shut out, the second-longest streak in school history. Auburn’s most recent shutout loss came 49-0 to Alabama on Nov. 17, 2012. Auburn’s record scoring streak lasted 149 games, starting with a 55-16 victory over Richmond on Oct. 4, 1980, and ending with a 17-0 loss to Alabama on Nov. 26, 1992. Auburn’s current scoring streak is the 10th-longest in SEC history, and its record streak is the ninth-longest.

178 Passing yards are needed by Missouri QB Brady Cook to become the fourth player in school history with 8,000. Chase Daniel holds the school record with 12,515 passing yards from 2005 through 2008. Drew Lock had 12,193 passing yards from 2015 through 2018, and Brad Smith had 8,799 passing yards from 2002 through 2005.
