2 fifth graders injured after falling from float during homecoming parade in north Alabama

Two fifth-grade students were taken to the hospital Thursday night after they fell from a float they were riding on during a homecoming parade in north Alabama, authorities said.

The students from the Collinsville School were injured when they fell from the float during the Collinsville Homecoming Parade, said Collinsville Police Chief Andy Brown.

The students were taken via ambulance to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, the chief said.

“Please pray for these children and their families, as this was a scary situation for all involved,” Brown said.
