Alabama woke up to some chilly temperatures on Thursday, and another cool day is in the forecast for the state.

Frost advisories were in effect for parts of north and central Alabama through the morning, according to the National Weather Service. Those are the counties in blue below:

High temperatures today are expected to be a degree or two higher than on Wednesday, when most spots in the state stayed in the 60s all day. (Today’s forecast highs are at the top of this post.)

This morning may end up being the coldest morning of the week.

Another cold night is in store for Alabama, but according to weather service forecasts it may be a degree or two warmer than this morning.

Friday will bring most of the state back into the 70s for highs:

In fact, the weather service is expecting temperatures to reach the mid-80s by midweek next week, with continued dry conditions.
