Hoover won two matches to earn the Class 7A, Area 6 volleyball tournament championship in Wednesday AHSAA action.

Class 7A third-ranked Hoover (37-9) downed ninth-ranked Thompson 25-12, 25-21, 22-25, 25-20 in semifinal play then swept host and top seed Oak Mountain 26-24, 25-20, 25-11 for the title.
