Hi-Wire Brewing closes Birmingham taproom after North Carolina hurricane damage

Hi-Wire Brewing’s Birmingham taproom has closed following devastation to its North Carolina operation.

The taproom, located at 2901 4th Avenue South, made the announcement today.

According to the company, flooding in Asheville, N.C., caused by Hurricane Helene devastated Hi-Wire’s headquarters, distribution center, and RAD Beer Garden location in the city’s River Arts District. This has caused the company to lose nearly all of its beer and packaging inventory.

In addition, its Biltmore Village Production Brewery remains without power or drinkable water.

“The brewery has been inspired by the outpouring of support from communities and partners near and far during this difficult time,” Hi-Wire said in a statement.

“Hi-Wire Brewing remains committed to serving guests at its nine other locations across four states as the brewery continues to focus on creating meaningful experiences and making the highest quality beer.”

Hi-Wire has locations in Asheville, Durham, Wilmington and Charlotte, N.C., as well as Cincinnati, Knoxville, Louisville and Nashville.
