Hoover’s Christopher Warren commits to Jacksonville State

One of the best offensive weapons in the Birmingham area will stay close to home.

Hoover tight end/wide receiver Christopher Warren announced his commitment to Jacksonville State on Monday morning.

Warren chose the Gamecocks over other offers that include Southern Miss, MTSU, Arkansas State, Samford and North Alabama.

The December graduate was previously committed to play for UAB, but reopened his recruitment on Aug. 4.

He joins a 2025 recruiting class for Jax State that includes Hillcrest-Tuscaloosa safety Jamarion Bennett, Jackson offensive lineman Markevian Blake and Lovejoy (Ga.) defensive lineman Antoniyo Smith.

Warren has helped lead a Hoover offense that has averaged 28.9 points per game; he most recently hauled in a touchdown pass in Hoover’s 56-6 blowout win over Tuscaloosa County.

Hoover (6-2, 5-0 Class 7A, Region 3) will travel to Thompson on Friday.
