Country music star to perform at NFL’s Thanksgiving Day halftime
Country music star Lainey Wilson will perform during the NFL’s Thanksgiving game between the Dallas Cowboys and the New York Giants.
“This Thanksgiving, right here, on this field, me and a special guest performing the halftime show for the Salvation Army’s annual Red Kettle Kickoff,” Wilson announced during halftime of the Cowboys and Lions game Sunday, per MSN. “It’s going to be a party.”
Dolly Parton performed – in her Dallas Cowboys gear – last year during the NFL’s Thanksgiving Day halftime show last year.
“Well, first of all, ain’t nobody going to top Dolly Parton,” Wilson said. “When she walked out there in that outfit, I was like, ‘My girl, my girl,’” Wilson said. “We’re getting it ready, y’all. I’m so excited for y’all to see what we’ve been working on. It’s some of the hits. You’re going to be surprised. It’s going to keep you on your toes is all I’m going to say.”
The Cowboys-Giants game will kick at 3:30 p.m. on Nov. 28.
Dak Prescott threw two interceptions in a 47-9 loss, the worst home loss since 1988 for the Cowboys. Dallas is 0-3 at home and 3-0 on the road.
