Authorities are asking for the public’s help finding an 87-year-old man missing for more than a week.

Bobby Joe Bell was last seen at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 9, leaving his Birmingham home. He was planning to travel to Logan Martin Lake.

Jefferson County sheriff’s spokesman Henry Irby said Bell’s white 2024 Toyota Corolla was spotted at 12:25 p.m. that day in the 2100 block of Moody Parkway heading toward Odenville.

Bell is 6-feet, 3-inches tall and weighs 200 pounds. He has gray hair and brown eyes.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call the sheriff’s office at 205-325-1450.
