An 82-year-old man was killed in a crash with a tractor-trailer in Shelby County.

Alabama State Troopers identified the fatality victim as Joseph M. Brennan. He lived in Cropwell.

The wreck happened at 11:25 p.m. Wednesday on Alabama 25, about one mile south of Harpersville.

Senior Trooper Justin O’Neal said Brennan was driving a Volkswagen Passat that was struck by a Peterbilt tractor-trailer driven by 40-year-old Brian Moore of Valley Grande.

Brennan was not using a seat belt at the time of the crash, O’Neal said, and was pronounced dead on the scene.
