78-year-old man killed, 3 others injured in Pickens County crash

A Mississippi man was killed Thursday night in a Pickens County crash.

Alabama State Troopers identified the fatality victim as Otha D. Rockett. He was 78 and lived in Columbus.

The wreck happened at 8:45 p.m. on U.S. 82, about five miles west of Reform.

Trooper Cpl. Reginal King said Rockett was driving a Chrysler 300 when she was struck by a Toyota Tundra driven by 65-year-old Larry E. Davidson of Reform.

Rockett was pronounced dead on the scene. His passenger, Emma L. Rockett, 71, was airlifted to North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo.

Davidson and his 22-year-old passenger, Jacob H. Davidson, were both injured and taken to Baptist Memorial Hospital in Columbus.

The investigation is ongoing by troopers.
