A McCalla woman was killed by her own vehicle Wednesday afternoon in the parking lot of St. Vincent’s Hospital in Birmingham, according to authorities.

Sharon Bush White, 76, got out of her vehicle before placing it in park, according to the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office.

White was then accidently struck by her own vehicle.

The accident happened around 12:16 p.m. and White was pronounced dead at the hospital at 12:43 p.m.

The circumstances surrounding the death are being investigated by the Birmingham Police Department.
