A 76-year-old inmate died over the weekend at William Donaldson Correctional Facility.

Wyman Carmon Radford was serving a life sentence for a 2010 sodomy conviction out of Winston County, according to the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office.

Radford was found unresponsive at 8:30 p.m. Saturday in the prison infirmary where he was being treated for significant natural disease, said Chief Deputy Coroner Bill Yates.

He was pronounced dead by medical staff at 8:37 p.m.

Yates said an autopsy on Sunday showed no evidence of trauma or foul play.

The cause of death is still pending additional laboratory studies.
