76-year-old Alabama man killed in head-on wreck with tractor-trailer

A 76-year-old Alabama man died Thursday morning in a head-on wreck with a tractor-trailer in Perry County, authorities said Friday.

Thomas R. Long, 76, of Uniontown, was driving a 2014 Subaru Outback on State Route 183 around 10:25 a.m. Thursday when the vehicle collided head on with a 2021 Kenworth tractor-trailer, said Alabama Law Enforcement Agency Cpl. Reginal King.

Long was pronounced dead at the scene of the wreck about 11 miles north of Uniontown, said King.

Further information was unavailable as state troopers continued to investigate the crash.
