Sylacauga police say a 72-year-old stabbed a 25-year-old man to death around midnight Monday.
Police Chief Kelley Johnson said the incident happened at 510 N. Main Ave. in Sylacauga.
Officers responding to a stabbing call found Fredrick Norris, 25, originally from Alexander City, lying on the front porch.
Officers performed first aid on Norris’s stab wounds until Sylacauga Ambulance arrived. Sylacauga Ambulance Service arrived shortly after and transported him to Coosa Valley Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
Johnson said the 72-year-old suspected of stabbing Norris, whose name was not released, is cooperating with investigators, along with other residents that were at the home when the incident occurred.
There are no charges at this time and the investigation has been turned over to the district attorney, who will present the case to a Talladega County grand jury, Johnson said.
