A 67-year-old north Jefferson County man has been indicted on multiple child sex charges.

A Jefferson County grand jury in February indicted John Robert Ryant, of Fultondale, on two counts of first-degree sexual abuse and four counts of sexual abuse of a child under the age of 12.

The indictment was made public Friday, one day after those warrants were served on Ryant.

Few details have been made public, but all of the charges involve the same victim. The charges allege Ryant subjected the child forcible sexual contact.

Ryant was booked into the Jefferson County Jail Thursday and released the same day after posting $150,00 bond.
