A west Alabama woman was killed in a head-on crash in Pickens County.

Alabama State Troopers on Friday identified the fatality victim as Barbara A. McDaniel. She was 63 and lived in Gordo.

The wreck happened at 2:10 p.m. Wednesday on U.S. 82, about four miles east of Gordo.

Trooper Cpl. Reginal King said McDaniel was driving a Honda Accord that collided head on with a Nissan Rogue driven by 61-year-old Cynthia Sullivan of Ethelsville.

McDaniel was pronounced dead on the scene.

Sullivan was airlifted to UAB Hospital in Birmingham.

The crash left debris on the roadway, which was then hit by another vehicle.
