A 63-year-old Trussville man is behind bars charged with multiple counts of child pornography possession.

Terry Lee Yerby is charged with at least 10 counts of possession of obscene matter of a child under the age of 17.

Trussville investigators carried out a search warrant on Feb. 22 at Yerby’s home, said Lt. Clint Riner. The warrant was obtained after police received a tip from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children.

During the search, Riner said, detectives seized several electronics belonging to Yerby.

“After a thorough forensic examination of the electronics, detectives discovered thousands of images depicting child pornography,’’ Riner said.

The Jefferson County District Attorney’s Office issued the warrants against Yerby on Tuesday.

He remains held in the Jefferson County Jail on bonds totaling $150,000.
