A Clanton man was killed Monday morning in a Chilton County crash.

Alabama State Troopers identified the fatality victim as Jimmie W. Cleckler. He was 63.

The crash happened at 6:15 a.m. on U.S. 31, about three miles south of Clanton.

Trooper Sgt. Jeremy Burkett said Cleckler was driving a Ford F-150 that left the road and struck a large mound of dirt. He was taken to St. Vincent’s Hospital in Clanton where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

Troopers are investigating.
