62-year-old inmate dies at William Donaldson prison; no foul play suspected
An inmate at William Donaldson Correctional Facility died Wednesday at the western Jefferson County prison.
Michael Wayne Perry, 62, died in the infirmary where he was being treated for significant natural disease, according to the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office.
Perry was serving a life sentence for 1979 murder and robbery convictions out of Montgomery County.
He was found unresponsive at 4:25 p.m. Wednesday in the infirmary and pronounced dead just minutes later.
Chief Deputy Coroner Bill Yates said the death is believed to be of natural causes.
