A man was found shot to death Wednesday morning at his south Shelby County home.

The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office identified the victim as Robert Etress. He was 59.

Deputies were dispatched at 8:32 a.m. to a 911 call in the 2500 block of Highway 311. When they arrived, they found Etress outside of his residence.

He had been shot multiple times, sheriff’s officials said, and was pronounced dead on the scene.
